Aboriginal workforce
The State Government is committed to improving economic outcomes for Aboriginal people and businesses, including through targeted employment opportunities.
Between October 2021 and May 2025, more than 8 per cent of all hours worked on the State's transport infrastructure program were undertaken by Aboriginal people.
Aboriginal Ranger Program
Since its establishment following the 2017 election, the Aboriginal Ranger Program has delivered on country jobs and training for Aboriginal people in regional and remote communities across WA.
To date, this program has created more than 1,400 jobs, with about 45 per cent of jobs taken up by women.
This Budget, $20 million has been provided to further expand the Aboriginal Ranger Program, which protects and manages land, river and sea, by drawing on traditional and modern knowledge.
