Investing in our regions

The 2025-26 Budget includes $4 billion investment in Royalties for Regions, and a $10.3 billion pipeline of regional infrastructure works over the next four years.

Regional health

This Budget includes $121 million of additional regional health and mental health investment, including:

  • $19 million to increase PATS to 40 cents per kilometre.
  • $12 million for Virtual Infant Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Hub for children and families across rural and remote WA.
  • $14 million to establish a mental health child and adolescent Acute Care and Response Team in Bunbury.
  • $12 million to establish an adult alcohol and other drugs residential rehabilitation treatment service in Albany.
  • $11 million to progress a Derby Wellness Centre and Broome Withdrawal Service.

Regional economies and jobs

  • $30 million boost to Collie Industrial Transition Fund to secure major new job creating projects in Collie.
  • $11 million for planning and development work for upgrades at Albany port to increase grain export trade and cruise ship visits.
  • $25 million to establish a Regional Racing Fund.
  • $21 million to unlock natural tourism attractions - making it easier for locals and tourists to our natural wonders.

Regional services

  • $30 million additional funding for the School of Isolated and Distance Education.
  • $5 million funding to expand PCYC early intervention and diversion programs in Broome, Carnarvon, Geraldton, Gosnells and Bunbury.
  • $6 million to establish a Kununurra Night Space program to provide a safe space for young people at night.
  • $16 million for accommodation to future-proof regional policing.
  • $104 million to double the GROH construction program with over 100 new builds to support service delivery in the regions.
  • $18 million to provide half price Transwa fares from 1 January 2026.
  • $26 million to increase the Regional Pensioner Travel Card to $775.
  • $8 million to help regional students save up to $500 to attend Country Week.
  • $7 million for two aerial strike teams to mitigate crop fire threats during grain harvest season.
