This Budget we are delivering more sport and community infrastructure than ever before, with $332 million for upgrades to changerooms, lighting and infrastructure across the State.
Community infrastructure
- $30 million to upgrade women's sporting facilities and enable greater participation of women in local sport.
- $67 million to upgrade local court facilities, including in Australind, Warwick and Joondalup.
- $13 million to Binar Futures for the development of a new community sport hub.
- $18 million to improve motorsport facilities, including upgrades Perth Motorplex.
- $20 million towards the development of the Malaga Sports Precinct.
- $30 million towards transforming Dorrien Gardens.
- $60 million over seven years for a Perth-based NRL team including grassroots development.
- $217 million to deliver a multi-use community, entertainment and sporting precinct at Burswood.
Encouraging participation
- $300 KidSport Vouchers available to WA families to help kids participate in sport and swimming lessons.
- Rolling out our Kids Access All Areas pass, so kids can access Scitech, and more arts and cultural events.
- Delivering our $2.7 million Live Music Package, helping more West Aussies access local live music.
Projects underway
Significant projects are underway that will bring vibrancy and grow participation in sport and the arts for decades to come.
- The WACA redevelopment is delivering a community hub, aquatic facility, and high performance facility.
- Sam Kerr Football Centre stage 2 redevelopment has kicked-off to cater for booming participation.
- State Hockey Centre transformation is on track to provide high-performance facilities and connection to the grassroots hockey community.
- Perth Concert Hall revitalisation hits top octave with contract awarded and works underway.
- Perth Film Studio is 60 per cent constructed with sound stages and workshops now up on set.
