Supporting WA women

The 2025-26 Budget invests in services and initiatives to improve women's health, sport, safety and workforce opportunities.

Women's health

  • We are building the new Women and Babies Hospital to benefit women, mums, babies and families across our State, with the contract now signed and construction commencing soon.
  • 2.5 million to establish a dedicated Women's Reproductive Health Day Procedure Centre at Cockburn Health Clinic.

Mums and parents

  • $29 million to pilot free full-time, school-based kindy for four year olds at ten sites.
  • $15 million to boost out of school hours care services.
  • $39 million to increase access to Ngala's Residential Parenting Service.
  • $8 million to continue the RSV immunisation program, and additional support for new mothers through the WA Breastfeeding Association.

Women's safety

Over the past five years, we've invested $541 million to curb the scourge of family and domestic violence. This includes a further $33 million investment this Budget.

  • $19 million to enhance electronic monitoring of FDV offenders.
  • $14 million of family violence prevention initiatives, including expanding the Safe at Home program.

Women's participation

  • $24 million to support community sporting organisations and local governments to upgrade facilities for women at 16 grounds around the State, including:
    • Dwellingup Oval
    • EDOS Sporting Pavilion in Ellenbrook
    • Ferndale Reserve
    • GBSC Sport Park in Geraldton
    • Joondalup Sports Association
    • Scarborough Football Club
    • South Perth Rugby League Club
    • Troy Park in Attadale
    • Winnacott Reserve Sporting Precinct in Willagee
  • $6 million to establish a Boosting Women and Girls Participation in Sport grant program.
  • $1 million to extend the Women's Grants for a Stronger Future program.
  • Delivering $300 KidSport vouchers this year.
  • Sam Kerr Football Centre stage 2 has kicked-off and will cater for massive 34 per cent increase in female participation.
